About Don Iannone

Don Iannone, a native of Belmont County, Ohio, is a poet living in the Greater Cleveland area. In addition to writing poetry, Don runs his own economic development strategy and research company, Donald T. Iannone & Associates. He has worked in the economic development field for over 30 years, completing nearly 300 assignments in 42 states and 13 countries.

Don’s poetry is eclectic in nature, drawing insight from everyday life. He is the author of two published poetry books. The first, Stilling the Waters, was published in 2005 by Medicine Wheel Publishing, and the second, Walks in Life’s Sacred Garden, was published in 2007 by Book Surge Publishing. A second printing of Stilling the Waters was also published by Book Surge. Both books are available on Amazon.com and other online bookstores.

A number of Don’s poems also have been published in several online poetry journals. He recently edited a collection of his 86-year old father’s poetry, entitled, When God Speaks to Us. Don is now working on his third poetry book, which is expected in late spring 2008.

  3. there is a large umbrella,
and you can either be another poet under it,
or you can be the rain

  4. Thanks for stopping by Ghost of Frank O’Hara. A quite thought-provoking comment, and much truth in it.

Ah, but O’Hara’s umbrella. I’ve always preferred being the rain.

  20. Hello Don. I am a member of PLAN of North East Ohio, my name is Sarah. We met at some of the poetry classes you taught. I don’t know if you remember me but I saw your name on the PLAN poetry contest chapbook. I was hoping that we could keep in touch. I am trying to self publish my own poetry book with hopes of having a career in writing. I really need direction in most of my poems and could really use a mentor. I am praying that you would have a few minutes to spend with me each week to guide me to a solid poetry book. PLEASE contact me at sarahmotil@gmail.com. Thanks!

    Sarah
